What fitness means to me-If you would have asked me this question 20 years ago, my answer would have been much, much different than it is today. 20 years ago, to me, fitness meant being as big as I could be, a very strict regimen, with very little cardio. Alas, here I am 20 years later and 20 years wiser with a completely different opinion on what fitness truly means to me. To me, fitness now means the ability to remain somewhat muscular, a nice bit of endurance, eating clean 85 percent of the time, a dedicated regimen but not too strict of a regimen, and the ability, to my very best, to remain disease and illness free.
Both answers are not wrong, really. Just different for different times. This post is merely a soft introduction about me and how I approach fitness with a few sprinklings of my philosophy on fitness.
I have a true passion for fitness, health and wellness, and helping others. This website was a longtime coming for me because I wasn’t sure how I wanted to approach it. However, after a lot of thinking and looking at other sites, I finally realized what I want this site to be about regarding fitness and fitness training. Simplicity
Yup, this site is aimed at making fitness simple. Whether it is losing weight, workout programs, gaining weight, or just maintaining weight, everything I put on here will be geared towards breaking fitness down into simplicity. Now, I do now want to offend other personal trainers, as they mean well, and honestly have valid information; however, I find them just too serious about fitness and over-complicating the fitness process. For us trainers, in the weeds information about fitness training, is perfectly acceptable. We understand, care about, and love the nerdy fitness key terms. However, for folks just wanting to start a fitness program, they don’t need in the weeds information. Maybe some do, but most don’t, and that is what this site is geared towards. Those that just want the basic facts when it comes to fitness. They want and need simplicity, and that is what I am here to offer.
There is a lot of overwhelming information out in the world today when it comes to fitness, exercising, and eating. 95 percent of that information is either crap, or it really just doesn’t matter. My goal here is to cut through the crap and garbage and give you the basic facts required to follow a lifelong fitness program.
I am eventually going to add a forum to this site because I want to create a place where folks can come and share their journey, their fears, their failures, and their fitness success stories. I am here to motivate and not demotivate folks on their fitness journey.
Lastly, I will always, and I mean always, give you my honest opinion on something and if I find a better way, or find out I was wrong about something, I will share it with the folks here.
Most of my posts won’t be this long; however, I really want to set the true tone and foundation of this site with my first post.
